In 2025, Korean Government’s Global Korea Scholarship Program aims to invite international students who wish to pursue graduate degrees in Korea.
1. Number of Scholarships Available for the Embassy Track (Nepal): 4 (Four)
2. Programs: 1 year of Korean language study + Master's (2 years) / Doctoral (3 years) study
3. Universities: Applicants can only apply to the universities and departments that are listed in the "University Information" attached with this notice.
※ When applying for the Embassy Track, you must include at least one B type university in the "University Information" list out of the three colleges you wish to apply for.
4. Eligibility:
- Nationality: Nepali
- Education:
o Master’s : Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree
o Doctoral : Minimum of Master’s Degree
■Applicants must have obtained the required degree (minimum level of education indicated above) by July 31, 2025.
(APPLICANTS WHO ARE EXPECTED TO GRADUATE BY JULY 31ST, 2025 CAN ALSO APPLY FOR THE PROGRAM WITH A CERTIFICATE OF EXPECTED GRADUATION. SUCH APPLICANTS MUST SUBMIT THEIR OFFICIAL GRADUATION CERTIFICATE (OR DIPLOMA) AND FINAL ACADEMIC TRANSCRIPT TO GKS CENTER, NIIED BY JULY 31, 2025. FAILURE TO DO SO WILL RESULT IN CANCELLATION OF YOUR ACCEPTANCE)
- Grade: Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of the entire curriculum from the previous degree program* must meet one of the conditions below.
o Score percentile should be 80% or above on a 100-point scale or be ranked in the top 20% of one’s class
o CGPA must be equal to or above 2.64/4.0, 2.80/4.3, 2.91/4.5 or 3.23/5.0
- Age: Must be under 40 years of age (Born after September 1, 1985)
- Health: All applicants must be in good health, both mentally and physically, to study in Korea for the full duration of the program.
5. Deadline: The applicant must check the document requirements and submit hard copies of all the required documents(4 sets of Application Forms, 1 set of Required Documents and Optional documents) to the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Nepal, no later than March 03, 2025 12:00PM.
6. Interview: Only shortlisted candidates will be invited for the interview.

※Note:
ㅇ All the required certificates must be attested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) of the Government of Nepal.
ㅇ Documents written in languages other than English and Korean must be attested by MoFA, and their certified translation must be submitted.
ㅇ The required certificates will be Consular Confirmed by the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Nepal for the successful candidates after the Interview round. (The Embassy will contact the candidates for consular confirmation.)
ㅇ For those who fail to pass the Embassy track application, they can apply for the separate University Track, so please refer to the attached guidelines and the GKS website for more information.
